Our Story

Newbury Park Pastries was opened in 1987, by Pastry Chef Kate Schlenker. Kate developed an interest in food at a young age and graduated with a BS degree in Food Marketing & Distribution from Rochester Institute of Technologies school of Hospitality and Tourism Management. Kate established her business while she was in college, and has been building and growing it ever since. For many years the business focused on providing wholesale pastries, cakes, and tarts to local restaurants, cafes, and venues around her native Rochester, NY. In 2003, she shifted gears to focus on savory pot pies, gaining a loyal following with the introduction of her famous Turkey Pot Pie.

Today, Kate operates Newbury Park Pastries from her bakery in Henrietta, NY. Every week she and her crew make a variety of savory and sweet pies and pastries which are available for pick-up at several locations throughout the week. You can find Kate every Sunday at the Brighton Farmers Market, and every Friday and Saturday at the shop!
